Are referred to in (Numbers 22:1, 26:3-63, 31:12, 33:48-50, 35:1, 36:13); (Deuteronomy 34:l-8); (Joshua 13:32); (I1 Chronicles 26:l). They were famous for their grain production (Numbers 32:l). Sometimes this referred to the Valley of the Jordan. During the Turkish times the Beni Hamidah tribe was driven off by the Belka Arabs, and the Beni Sakhar tribe drove off the Belka Arabs and remain to this day. The plains are still very productive grain fields.
